This one's worth it I promise

December's actually a pretty good month when you don't have finals and school to worry about and you push yourself so hard and are so sleep deprived that break finally starts and you go into a sleep/sickness coma.  Yeah definitely didn't miss that 🥰🥰

Guess who has the best luck ever?? Me obviously! We were driving on the freeway and a little, tiny, minuscule rock cracked our windshield and spread so we have to get it replaced. Bad things happen to good people, I guess. I'm blaming this all on that chain email I got in 2012 that I never forwarded to 50 people. Should've listened 😔

On Tuesday we got to volunteer at the Maryland Food Bank and I met some of the coolest people ever. Vanessa traveled all over Europe with her band and can bake enough food for an army.  Estrella moved here from Peru and is one of the smartest people I've ever met. John goes to Newport super often to get slammed at the Wedge and surf some gnarly waves.  From Baltimore we drove down to Potomac and had a short zone conference and came home with some Christmas packages.

On Christmas Eve, we had a mission zoom party and did some fun activities. Highlights were the 4 year old son of the mission president throwing a tantrum (reminded me of home 🥰) and getting called out for having an Elf on the Shelf.

On Christmas Day, Santa skimped out this year on presents for us, but it's okay because we understand it's been rough recently.  But I finally got some juggling balls so I can stop ruining all our tangerines!!  Also, I think I'm officially old because I got super stoked when the mission gifted us a crockpot.

Those are some of the Christmas highlights but this week we started a new thing: call-ins Bingo.  So our district leader calls us 2 times a week to see how we are doing on goals and stuff so we started a Bingo sheet because it makes it more fun. I got Bingo 3 times.  He still doesn't know.  I'll update later.

Well, this year has flown by!!! Thank you 2020.  You were hard, but priceless to me.  I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Love, Hermana Dangl

We are keeping the tree up for an obnoxiously long amount of time.

We be ridin on the coattails of the spirit

Hola!!!

This week was crazy, awesome, long, and fun and was FILLED with tender mercies. Here are just a few

-We got a flat on the freeway in a rain storm but we were able to fix it and get home safely

-The roads weren't too icy during the winter storm Gail

-Went to Crumbl and the owner gave us free cookies!

On Thursday we were able to go to the Festival of Lights at the temple!! It was a short drive thru in the parking lot but there were thousands of lights and it was absolutely beautiful ;') I'm trunky for the temple. I miss it so much. Also our guy, Mark hooked us up with free cookies.

We had a Christmas Branch Music Devotional over Zoom on Sunday!! My comp and I sang The First Noel and I played the ukulele.

We got to go to DC today!!!!! We walked a million miles and like 5 families came up to talk to us and I felt like a celebrity. One of them knows my Aunt Shannon. Wooo small world!! It also brought back some tender memories from my 8th grade DC trip. Only a couple weird guys tried talking to us and one called us beautiful so honestly I'll take what I can get. I love DC.

In other important news, we tried making pupusas! We didn't have all the right ingredients and especially the biggest one, being Latina, so we failed miserably.

Love you all and I hope you all have a super FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!

Missionaries are the reason Samsung and Facebook are still in business.

Helloooo!

Good news!!! We had transfer calls and I'm staying here in Annapolis with Hermana Hacking!! This duo is just too powerful to break up yet. And boy do we have some big plans for this transfer.

Today we also played pickleball in the pouring rain for our district activity. But hey, I still smoked everyone with my mad skills and we had tons of fun even if we were soaking wet in 40 degree weather.

Other highlights

-Elder Basset of the 70 and his wife joined us remotely for a 3 day mission tour/training

-We finally got a pic with our pupusa plug, Monica

-Why I believe FB live (check it out on FB!!) with my favorite senior missionaries. https://www.facebook.com/111888333820001/videos/2718113351740885

-We've had really good contact with our friend Ariana and she is preparing for baptism

-Being a missionary is just the best

Sorry for this super decent email, I promise the pictures will make up for it :)

Something so beautifully bomb

Hellooooo!

So this week we started talking to a new guy named Joel! He is so cool and after we taught him the Restoration he was like "wow". WOW is right!! It's some pretty good stuff.

Then we talked with our friend Melque and he wants to be baptized!! He has such a strong desire to follow Jesus Christ and change his life. These are the kinda moments in life that I'll never forget.

SOOO Wednesday morning we woke up to the worst news ever: new covid restrictions which means we are pretty much back in isolation. I don't think I'd ever had a day go so bad so quickly. However, at that moment I had no idea that this would be such a tender mercy filled day and one that I would never forget. That morning, we walked out into the freezing cold to run and the sky was painted with the most beautiful colors. And if you know me, you know I live for moments like these!! We went to the bridge, our favorite sunset/sunrise spot, where you can see the entire bay then ran to the Navy Stadium on the way back. As we stopped by, a super cool guy let us go onto the field to take some pics! Later were able to do some service and had an amazing time and then had a super good correlation meeting with our Branch President. Later we had a Mission Devotional to get some clarification about the new rules and it was just rough for everyone. It's hard to be so obedient and try so hard to follow all the rules hoping that things will get better, just for them to get worse. That day I was shown that God is, without a doubt, so involved in the details of our lives and that there are so many tender mercies each day that we just need to open our eyes and look for.

This week we also had interviews with President and I begged him to let me stay in Annapolis because we got big plans for next transfer so we'll see. 🤞🤞

In other news, we are now on a first name basis with Monica at the pupusa truck and she knows our order. My life goals are complete.

We had the most amazing testimony meeting on Sunday and I am so amazed at the faith and dedication of the members in our branch. So many of them have sacrificed so much and it's an honor to know them. It's tiny but mighty!!

That's it for this week!!

That's . . . . pretty cool

Hola!!

This week has been awesome and I have loved President Nelson's invitation to flood social media with gratefulness!! If I've realized one thing, it's that more people than I thought went through a phase where they thought wearing fedoras was cool. But for real, how blessed are we to have a prophet of God on the earth today???

Last Monday we got to go bowling as a district!! Shout out to all those days I spent bowling in the Wilk freshman year that prepared me for this very moment.

We had splits/exchanges and I got to hang out with my MOM (My trainer, Hermana Eich). I got to show her around Annapolis and we reminisced on the good days, and she got to meet her granddaughter!! It was a beautiful family reunion.

So now for our girl Ariana! She is so cute and loves the Book of Mormon, and is a senior in high school so life's a little crazy right now. But she accepted an invitation to be baptized in December!!

Geovany is a super cool guy that we are teaching English to and the gospel! He has a super strong testimony of Jesus Christ and really loves our message.

Some senior missionaries moved into our complex and they are absolute angels!! They brought us cookies and are so cute.

Some random stuff

-Our neighbor's dog is named Jabba the Mutt and we've also made names for our neighbors and their dogs because it gets a little lonely around here sometimes.

-We found a peeling foot mask so we tried it and our feet are supposed to peel off in about 4-6 business days so I'll let yall know how that goes.

Oh and I guess this other thing is kinda cool but I hit my halfway mark this past week!!! I can't even explain what the past 9 months have meant to me and I wouldn't trade them for anything!!! Thank you 2020 for being one of the best years of my life and for teaching me more than I ever could've imagined. I love being a missionary and I am so, so, so blessed for my amazing support system. Hey! Surprise! That's you! So today I #givethanks for my family and friends because I couldn't do it without y'all!

You know, everytime I reach in my pockets and hope to find some cash I forgot about, 10 times out of 10 I just find old masks. And that's on 2020.

This week we finally put up our Christmas lights to match our tree that's been up since Halloween. Merry Chrysler!!

If you are a real one, you remember Edenilson and how we put him on date to be baptized but then we kinda lost contact with him and I left the area. But he just got baptized last week!!!

Thanksgiving Day isn't complete without a turkey bowl, so we brought out the pickleball court and had a pretty heated tournament. The day before Thanksgiving, we drove down to the mission office to pick up food boxes since we weren't able to eat with anyone but of course we stopped by the temple on the way home so it was all worth it. That night we all got on a Zoom as a mission to eat pie together and watch a video we all made about what we are thankful for. Then we finished off the festivities the next morning by having pie for breakfast and I would NOT recommend that. A sugar crash at 9am is not a good thing.

It was a super good week and we started talking to some new friends that have a ton of interest. Also a cute Hermana brought her giant pot of tamales to church and was handing them out after the meeting and it was the cutest thing ever. Love you all!!
